How to approve a referral

Here’s a polished draft for your support article titled “How to Approve a Referral You’ve Received from a Partner” — written in Euler’s support style:

When a partner submits a new referral, you’ll be notified via email that there’s a new referral waiting for your review inside your Euler dashboard.

Step 1: Log into Your Euler Account

Once you’re logged in, you’ll see a “Referrals to Approve” button at the top of your dashboard. Click this to view all pending referral submissions.

Step 2: Review the Referral Details

You’ll see a list of referrals that need your attention. Each referral includes relevant information about the lead your partner submitted. If we’ve already checked your CRM and found a match for the email address of the referred contact, we’ll show you a warning so you can double-check your CRM before proceeding. This helps you avoid creating duplicates or following up on someone who may already be in your pipeline.

ℹ️ Euler automatically checks your CRM for existing contacts based on the email address of the person being referred.

Step 3: Accept or Reject the Referral

Next to each referral, you’ll see a green ✅ checkmark and a red ❌ X icon. Click the green checkmark to accept the referral or the red X to reject it.

After making your selection, you’ll have the option to send a message back to the partner who submitted the referral. This is your opportunity to provide feedback—whether it’s a thank-you note or a quick explanation for why a referral wasn’t a fit. Or, you can choose not to send a message at all.

Step 4: Associating a Referral with a Known Partner (if needed)

In some cases—particularly if you’re using an external referral form on your website—the referral might come in from an email address that isn’t yet linked to a known partner in your Euler account. When that happens, we’ll still save all the referral data and show you the email address of the person who submitted it.

You’ll see an “Associate Partner” button next to the referral. Click it to select the correct partner from your list. More often than not, you’ll recognize the email and know exactly who submitted the lead.

💡 This scenario is common when external forms are used and a partner submits a lead using a different or unrecognized email address.

Understanding CRM Field Mapping

Behind the scenes, Euler handles how your referral data flows into your CRM.

If you’d like to customize or view this setup:

  1. Go to Settings in Euler.

  2. Click on Forms.

  3. Inside the form editor, you can view and manage the field mappings between your referral form and your CRM. This controls where referral information is written when a partner submits a lead.

Bonus: Duplicate Detection

When creating a referral, if Euler detects a possible duplicate (based on your existing CRM records), we’ll flag that right in the UI so you can take action accordingly.
